What?
A networking session for individuals and organisations from the private, public and voluntary sectors currently or potentially active in the provision and brokerage of pro bono services.
Why?
Strong communication and effective coordination between those providing and brokering pro bono work ensure that it is delivered in the most efficient way to support individuals and organisations with the greatest need.
Professionals interested in providing pro bono advice are provided with the opportunity to speak with people delivering pro bono to find out what the benefits are and how they could become involved.
Advice agencies and pro bono brokerages are able to promote their services and recruit new volunteers.
Charities and community groups who may need pro bono services are able to find out about the pro bono support that is locally available.
Networking between key parties can highlight opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
Who?
Key local pro bono stakeholders - Exactly who these are will vary depending on the region however typically they might include:
- Law firms
- Chambers
- Local Law Society
- Law school/university students
- ProHelp group
- Professional services firms
- Citizens Advice Bureau

How?
This model is extremely flexible and might take the form of a formal reception or an informal meeting. Depending on which stakeholders are involved, it might include a number of different elements from an exhibition, to short presentations on the services provided by each of the parties, or even a session to match pro bono projects with professional volunteers.
The important thing is to ensure that links between the key organisations are made locally and that everybody has a good understanding of what each other does.
